This little clip comes from a 1959 issue of Drag Racer magazine. You can see that the frame has been dropped by extending the lower frame rails a few inches. This also gives the bike more rake.
Stating the blindingly obvious , it`s easy to see where the early chopper builders drew their inspiration from . That bike looks like it`s been switched to 18" rims , not something you always see on dragbikes from that time.

ReplyDeleteSo true. The smaller rim sizes were the exception during this period with 19, 20 and 21 inchers more common on the front.
